As part of the Erasmus+ HWCA project, the Kazakh-German University hosted the Regional Competition on Scientific Posters and Policy Briefs, bringing together participants from all Central Asian countries.
📊 58 teams joined the competition at the initial stage, and 23 teams successfully submitted their final works.
Participants worked on topics including:
💧 strategic and integrated water resources management;
🌍 water diplomacy and transboundary cooperation;
🌱 climate change and water resources;
💻 digital technologies and innovation in the water sector;
🚜 irrigation and water efficiency;
📈 water resources monitoring and assessment.
A key part of the competition was a series of training and mentoring sessions with regional and international experts. Participants had the opportunity to learn from:
🎓 Saule Zeinolla — Regional Expert and Competition Mentor, who delivered a series of sessions on research communication, policy briefs, and visualization of research results.
🎓 Prof. Filippo Menga — Associate Professor at the University of Bergamo (Italy), Editor-in-Chief of Political Geography, and a partner of the Erasmus+ HWCA project. His session focused on preparing effective Policy Briefs.
🎓 Prof. Jean-Paul Deroin — Professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (France) and a partner of the Erasmus+ HWCA project. He led a session on the preparation and visual presentation of scientific posters.
🏆 The competition concluded with the Demo Day, where selected teams presented their works to an independent expert jury.
